Position Summary

The Employee Relations Specialist serves as a partner to business leaders and employees in the administration and application of all workplace related policies and procedures.  The Employee Relations Specialist position is an in-office position based at our corporate office in Charlotte, NC, Ballantyne area. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Acts as an advisor to field and corporate leaders and employees on personnel matters, including but not limited to employee relations, leaves of absences, benefits, requests for accommodations, and EEO/Human Resources compliance matters and processes.
  • Manages day-to-day administration of the human capital ticketing system.
  • Conducts internal investigations, employee disciplinary meetings, and terminations.
  • Use independent judgment to create accurate written reports based upon findings.
  • Reviews and interprets policies and procedures relating to employees and employment matters.
  • Consults with legal counsel on employment related matters.
  • Administers the company’s performance management process.
  • Conducts field/site visits as assigned for investigations, human capital program administration and special projects.
  • Maintains up to date awareness of industry trends, best practices, regulatory compliance and employment law.
  • Up to 25% travel by automobile, air, or rail to company sites upon request and approval. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or related field required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS, talent management systems and onboarding systems.
